
PHICHIT: About 500 doctors will provide free medical treatment at a rural Phichit hospital on Dec 17 under campaign to provide voluntary services for people in remote areas.
The campaign is organised by the Foundation for Good Governance on Medicine, chaired by Privy Councillor Kasem Wattanachai.
A total of 12 medical services will be provided for about 1,500 people at Bangmulnak Hospital in Bang Mun Nak district from the morning to the evening of Dec 17, it was announced at a media briefing by AVM Ittaporn Kanacharoen, chairman of the Good Governance for Medical Executives course under the King Prajadhipok’s Institute; Dr Apirom Vejabhuti, chairwoman of the project’s organizing committee; and Dr Wisit Apisitwithaya, the project secretary.
The 500 doctors want to do good deeds together and provide free medical services to people in the remote area of Bang Mun Nak, share their knowledge and instruct people how to take good care of their health.
Medical specialists will also exchange knowledge with other doctors from hospitals in the province.
The free services will be available in the areas of dentistry, ophthalmology, thyroid, heart disease, liver cancer, breast lumps, skin disease, haemorrhoids, prosthetic legs, medical technology, body support equipment and colonoscopy.
A huge number of people are expected to turn up, so hospital and project staff will operate a queue system. Food and water will also be provided.
