Hundreds of cannabis plants with a street value of £300,000 found in Worksop

Police have found hundreds of cannabis plants being grown in a Nottinghamshire building.

Nottinghamshire Police's drug support team and Worksop police officers were called to a cannabis grow at Ryton Street in Worksop at 10am on Tuesday (May 14).

A total of 282 plants were found inside the property, at various stages of growth.

The drugs seized had a maximum potential street value of £300,000.

No arrests have been made.

A police spokesman said: "The pictures show potentially how dangerous the grows are, with the celling coming down due to the size and weight of the grow, with officers inside the property.

"The grow was reported after an electricity company carried out a check on the property and officers attended to find three levels of cannabis cultivation.

"Officers are appealing for any information and witnesses following the discovery of the plants. If you have any information, please ring 101 quoting incident number 230 of 14 May 2019."
