A huge cannabis farm that sprawled across a number of rooms at a property in Waterloo has been uncovered by police officers.
More than 400 plants were seized from the farm, on Oxford Road, at around 10am yesterday (Monday).
The raid was the latest in Merseyside Police's Operation Pelican, an ongoing probe into crime in the Sefton area.
On April 16, police seized designer clothing, cash and cocaine after executing a warrant on an address in Lydiate.
On May 3, officers found scrambler bikes, cannabis and a massive haul of cash at a home in Bootle.
Bundles of notes and a hoard of coins made up what was around £10,000 recovered in the operation.
The discovery led to the arrest of a man for possession with intent to supply cannabis, theft and money laundering.
Further investigations into the cannabis farm, officers say, are ongoing.
How to spot the signs of a cannabis farm:
• Strange smells and sounds
• Frequent and varied visitors to a property, often at unusual times
• Gardening equipment being taken into a property, such as plant pots, fertiliser, fans and industrial lighting
• Windows are sealed and covered or the curtains are permanently closed
• Heat from an adjoining property
• Birds gathering on a roof in cold weather
• Individually these activities may seem commonplace, however, together may indicate something more suspicious
