Hundreds of Brits set to strip off for one of the UK's biggest nudist festivals

One of Britain's biggest nudist festivals is due to descend on a quiet nook of the English countryside.

More than 500 naturists are expected to descend on a Westcountry campsite for the week-long festival today.

The event ground at Thorney Lakes Caravan and Camping Park in Somerset opens from 5pm today for the festival which will kick off tomorrow.

Festival goers are welcomed at the event to bare all for activities from fire walking and yoga lessons, to a 10k run, virtual reality gaming, craft sessions, a fishing contest, clay pigeon shooting and a silent disco, reports Bristol Live .

Organisers say that "everyone is encouraged to sit and chat creating a friendly village like atmosphere to encourage the community spirit and help people, perhaps new to naturism, relax and make friends".

There will be a bar on site, and The Garden Stage and will host live music, 'show and tell' sessions, workshops and stories.
