Hundreds of bikers descend on Glasgow to escort motorcycle club boss to funeral in a sidecar

Hundreds of bikers travelled from across the world to Glasgow today for the funeral of a motorcycle gang boss.

Allan Morrison's coffin was carried in a sidecar as up to 400 mourners followed on their bikes.

The Blue Angels Motorcycle Club founder died of lung disease COPD last month at his home in the city.

The 77-year-old was the president of the "oldest one per cent motorcycle club in Europe" which he helped found.

The "one per cent" is often used to describe so-called outlaw biker clubs.

Police escorted the massive procession from T & R O'Brien funeral director in Maryhill Road to Glasgow Crematorium.

And despite torrential rain it was clear from the jackets of mourners that they'd travelled from far and wide to pay their last respects.

Allan and his best friend Billy Gordon founded the club in 1963 and it grew to include chapters in Scotland, northern England, Belgium and Spain.

Following his death, his family said: "Allan was much loved by his friends, family and fellow bikers all over the world.”
