Hundreds expected at funeral procession for fundraiser Scott Glynn in East Lothian

Hundreds of brightly-dressed people are expected to turn up for a large funeral procession in East Lothian, following the death of fundraiser Scott Glynn.

The former rugby player and founder of the Walk With Scott campaign died on New Year's Day after a battle with cancer.

His charity walk around the rugby clubs in the county became a local institution and raised nearly £300,000 for good causes.

Roads around Tyninghame will be closed by police to allow the procession to go ahead on Tuesday morning.

It's expected to be very busy in the area and buses will leave Tranent police station and the John Bellany day centre at 10.45am to help people reach the service.

Scott will be buried alongside his dog Charlie. He will be laid to rest at 11.30am, with the buses leaving at 10.45am.

His family posted an update saying: "Scott's wishes were to be buried in Binning Woods with his devoted dog Charlie to once again walk wild and free.

"Everyone is invited to say their own goodbyes at the woods and join the family back at the Royal Musselburgh Golf Club afterwards.

"Dress code request please is club ties, Walk With Scott T-shirts or the brightest, wildest colours you have, you know what he liked."

A friend of the family said Scott was so well-known hundreds of people were expected to attend the funeral.
