Hundreds of Boxing Day shoppers have been left out in the street in Ayr this morning.
The town's Ayr Central shopping centre has been evacuated due to an ongoing incident.
All stores in the centre were emptied when fire alarms sounded shortly after 9.30am.
One eyewitness said: "We were quickly ushered outside on to the street and the shops were very busy at the time.
"Everyone was clearly out early looking for a Boxing Day bargain and it was good to see the centre so packed."
Fire engines have now arrived on the scene.
