Hundreds of people crowded together in Temple Bar to enjoy takeaway pints last night despite current Covid restrictions.
Three males were arrested at the scene for public order offences, Dublin Live reports.
Shocking pictures from earthcam.com show massive throngs of people congregating in the city centre.
Large groups of adults were in good spirits, with many having no regard for Covid-19 rules.
Plastic cups can be seen in people's hands and some people can also be seen sitting on the shoulders of others.
Footage then shows gardai arriving at the scene as people quickly disperse from the area.
A Garda spokesman said :"Gardai attended the Temple Bar area this evening, Saturday 22 May 2021.
"A number of persons were gathered in the area.
"Gardai engaged with those present and the crowd dispersed.
"Three males, all aged in their 20s, were arrested for public order offences."
Meanwhile, outdoor drinking is to be tackled as Dublin's Green Party councillors are seeking night marshals to monitor activities in popular city spots this summer.
The next few weeks are set to be busy as outdoor socialising continues to soar, and with indoor dining expected to resume in early July, councillors are wondering how large groups and outdoor drinking can be managed.
Gardai can intervene but many don't want to see a heavy-handed approach taken on those trying to socialise safely outdoors.
Green Party councillors want to see night marshals hired for the summer months, similar to the general staff at festivals or large outdoor events.
Janet Horner, Councillor for the Dublin North Inner City told Newstalk that this will manage social activity outdoors.
She said: “The Green councillors for the Dublin City area have suggested we can bring in daytime ambassadors, welcoming people back to the city, and then night marshals providing a little bit of management to pro-social behaviour.
“If people are out gathering, they’d make sure the bins aren’t overflowing, reminding people to take their waste with them, notifying the guards if there are gatherings that are getting out of control.
“We’re asking the council to bring in staff to do this."
Cllr Horner believes that the behaviour of people can be easily monitored by the marshals.
She said: "If you go to a festival in the summer, there’s not a heavy gardai presence everywhere you go.
"Behaviour is managed by security staff and marshals, and people directing you to where you need to go.”
