'Humble pie' - Nottingham Forest fans pick club's player of the season so far

Nottingham Forest have have been debating who has been the club’s best player of the season so far.

The Reds are enjoying a successful campaign so far under manager Sabri Lamouchi, and are vying for promotion to the Premier League.

Forest are currently in fourth place in the Sky Bet Championship table, and are aiming to climb into the automatic promotion places by the end of the season.

In the 30 league matches, there have been a number of consistent and standout performers.

Matty Cash has been one of Lamouchi’s key players this term, featuring as a makeshift right back but has impressed in the role.

Summer signing Samba Sow has been an integral part of the midfield, while goalkeeper Brice Samba has also impressed since his summer move from Caen.

And up front, Lewis Grabban has continued to bag the goals that have proved to be vital for the Reds this season.

But who has been the standout so far? Here is a selection of what Forest fans have had to say.

Paul Elliott: “Cash has overtaken Samba for me atm.”

Jonno Reilly: “Ben Watson.”

JeffP_NFFC: “Why no Ben Watson? He’s my choice so far.”

Nick Fletcher: “Sow.”

One Decent Fox: “Grabban.”

Ady Rily: “It should be Grabban or Cash but Sow is so important it’s got to be him.”

Phil Hardy: “For sheer consistency and the fact that last summer I'd have willingly driven him away from the City Ground it has to be Ben Watson. Now eating massive portions of humble pie!”
