A "quiet and humble" Asda worker has been praised for his kindness after paying for a customer's shopping because she was unable to.
Marc Morrow has been recognised by managers and colleagues at the Coleraine branch in Northern Ireland since his recent generous gesture.
The customer became "upset and stressed" when she realised she'd forgotten her bank card while at the self-service checkouts, Belfast Live reports.
Seeing the woman in a state of distress, Marc stepped in without hesitation, and offered to foot the bill for her weekly shop.
Not just a generous man, he is humble too. In a "typical move" for Marc, he kept the act of kindness to himself and didn't tell anyone, a manager said.
Angela Lamberton, Customer Trading Manager said: “Marc has excelled in his role at Asda - he is a very knowledgeable and calming person.
"He didn’t tell anyone that he had paid for the shopping, which is just typical of Marc.
"He is a quiet and humble man, and I would not be surprised if he had done things like this before.
"He doesn’t like a fuss and is always there to help out his colleagues and customers.”
Marc added: “She was a regular customer and she had gotten quite stressed.
"I wouldn’t want to see anyone stuck so I paid for her shopping because I could. It was the right thing to do, and I was happy to help.”
The woman was so elated and grateful for Marc's generosity that she returned in a couple of days to thank him, and repay him for the kind act.
