Humason resigns from Massachusetts State Senate, sworn in as Westfield mayor

Donald Humason Jr. (R) resigned from his position in the Massachusetts State Senate on January 6, 2020, to assume office as the mayor of Westfield, Massachusetts.

Humason Jr. had represented the 2nd Hampden and Hampshire District in the Senate since 2013. He previously represented the 4th Hampden District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 2003 to 2013. A special election will be held to fill his seat along with another vacant Massachusetts State Senate seat in March 2020.

Humason was elected mayor of Westfield in November 2019, and was sworn in as mayor on January 6, 2020
