Human Traffic sequel with Danny Dyer confirmed - plot is 'a reaction to Brexit'

Human Traffic is getting a sequel and it'll be a "reaction to Brexit".

The cult classic 1990s film starring John Simm and Danny Dyer will be getting a follow-up film, according to the film's director Justin Kerrigan.

Mixmag reports that the director revealed at the Tramshed in Cardiff: "We’re doing Human Traffic 2!"

The first film chronicled the ups and downs - both chemical and emotional - of five friends whose weekends are filled with endless clubbing, pubbing and partying with no rules, no limits and complete reckless abandon.

Kerrigan also teased what fans of the first film can expect from the new story.

"It's about one race, the human race and a reaction to Brexit.

"We love you people, we can't wait to see you again. Thanks for coming. Lots of love."

It was also confirmed that EastEnders star Danny Dyer will reprise his role of Moff from the first film.

Terminator star Linda Hamilton slams later sequels as "forgettable"

"And Danny Dyer's in it. Danny Dyer's playing Moff. Ask him on social network. Love you, Danny."

Mixmag also revealed that Shaun Parkes and Nicola Reynolds will also reprise their roles from the 1999 film.

It is unknown if star John Simm will return for the film.

Dyer currently portrays pub landlord Mick Carter in BBC soap opera EastEnders, but recently made headlines after he made a 'rude joke' in regards to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall at an awards ceremony.

Human Traffic 2 does not currently have a release date.
