Human remains have been found at an airstrip in WA's wheatbelt region, police have confirmed.
The ABC understands a human skull was found near the Wongan Hills airstrip on Sunday by members of the public who were riding motorbikes at the time.
Police have conducted a search of the area.
Police said the search was complete and investigations were under way to establish the identity of the dead person and the circumstances surrounding their death.
The Shire of Wongan-Ballidu, who own the airstrip, referred questions to the police.
