Human remains found inside skip at cemetery sparking police probe

Police have launched an investigation following the gruesome discovery of human remains which were found inside a skip at a cemetery. Officers were called to Tipton Cemetery, in Sandwell, West Midlands, after the grim find was reported to them on Saturday evening (August 27).

The burial site was sealed off over the Bank Holiday weekend while forensic officers erected several tents and combed the area for clues. A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We're investigating after human remains were found in a skip at Tipton Cemetery, Alexandra Road, on Saturday evening.

"The area has been cordoned off for further searches to be carried out. They will undergo forensic and archaeological analysis. There is no information linking this discovery to a criminal investigation at this stage."

Sandwell Council, which runs the site, has not yet commented but the cemetery remains open to the public.
