Human remains found at busy Scots industrial estate as police probe launched

A police probe has been launched after human remains were found at a Scots industrial estate.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Whitehill Road, Glenrothes, at around 5.20pm on Sunday after the grim discovery was made.

Local residents reported a heavy police presence in the area as police locked down roads in the Whitehill Industrial Estate.

Police Scotland confirmed they are currently in attendance and said that enquiries remain ongoing.

A force spokesperson said: “Around 5.20pm on Sunday 27th September 2020 police were called after unidentified human remains were found at an industrial estate on Whitehill Road in Glenrothes.

“Enquires are at an early stage.”
