Hull KR make decision on Leeds Rhinos youngster

Muizz Mustapha will leave Hull KR at the end of the season.

The England Academy forward joined Rovers from Leeds Rhinos on a season-long loan at the start of the year, with the club having the option to turn that into a permanent deal.

But the compact forward has struggled for game time with Rovers during their excellent campaign and head coach Tony Smith has confirmed he will return to Headingley at the end of his loan spell.

Despite not playing as much as hoped, the Nigerian-born forward has left a big impression on Smith and Rovers during his stay.

"Muizz won't be with us next year and he's been informed of that," Smith said.

"He's a Leeds player so it's up to Leeds what happens next.

"Listen, I love him, he's a great little guy, he tries really hard, he's a great trainer and he's going to play a part before the end of the season.

"It's been a bit frustrating for him but honestly, his attitude is first class, he's a lovely young man. He needs to play a lot of rugby league and keep developing, unfortunately, we haven't been able to give him that for his development.

"I've got a great relationship, we haven't got a spot here for him but we're going to watch his development for years to come."
