Hull firm purebroadband wins lucrative Glass House broadband contract

Hull internet provider purebroadband won a lucrative contract to supply ultrafast fibre broadband to a unique new city centre apartment complex.

The company, based in Anlaby Road in Hull, provided internet connectivity for the 94 apartments and penthouses inside The Glass House, a new luxury development in Queen’s Gardens.

The £20m refurbishment of the former Police Station HQ in Hull city centre includes 94 apartments and duplex penthouses, and the developer has created a six-star experience in terms of location and smart features.

Hull-based purebroadband has installed fibre-to-the-home connectivity to apartments inside The Glass House, offering speeds of up to 1,000Mbps.

The managing director at Iguana Developments, the business behind The Glass House, previously spoke about the scheme.

Jason Coleman said:  “It has been four years in the making but we are very proud of this development.

“To have such an iconic building in the very heart of city centre yet in a tranquil south facing setting overlooking Queen’s Gardens makes it utterly unique.

“Our developments just keep getting better and better and we guarantee that buyers will not be disappointed with The Glass House.

“We aim for our brand to be synonymous with quality and this development raises the bar on our trademark smart amenities, which make chic city living so attractive.”

purebroadband was established in 2009 to deliver an alternative broadband internet service in Hull.

It offers a variety of services to households including fibre products and wireless broadband for those without a telephone line.

The company also provides gigabit speed internet solutions to businesses of all sizes, based on their individual requirements including lit and dark fibre.

purebroadband has built a strong relationship with Iguana Developments.

The Glass House is the third project the businesses have worked together on, with purebroadband previously installing broadband at fellow city centre apartment complexes Essex House and Liberty House.

The new Queen’s Gardens development includes smart features including a residents’ cinema, gym and gaming rooms.

The Glass House also boasts a private dining room and open plan co-work space for people working from home.

Mr Coleman said: “Two key components are the future-proofed fibre-optic internet with 1000mpbs capability plugged into each apartment.

“Installed by Pure Broadband, residents do not share bandwidth with other properties in the area.”

Iguana Developments other ventures has seen it invest almost £40m to refurbish Essex House on Manor Street, Liberty House on Liberty Lane and now The Glass House in Queens Gardens since 2015.
