Hull City watching Bohemians winger Danny Grant after impressive season

Hull City boss Grant McCann has confirmed that the League One leaders are watching Danny Grant.

But he claims that does not mean the Tigers will be signing the Bohemians winger.

“There probably is something in it but we haven’t thought about signing him,” McCann told BBC Radio Humberside.

“It’s just a conversation an agent had with Cliff (Byrne, City’s assistant) regarding the boy.

“And as soon as Cliff picks the phone up you know it’s going to be in the paper the next day. That’s all it is really, that’s the news around it.”

Grant, who is nominated for this season’s PFAI ‘Player of the Year’ and PFAI ‘Young Player of the Year’, admits he could leave Bohs this winter.

"I've never hidden the fact that I probably want to test myself in England and get to England," he told the LOI Weekly Podcast.

"I'm looking at some opportunities over in England. I've spoken to Keith (Long) about staying at Bohs and Keith knows how much the club means to me.

“But I'm probably looking to get to England. I think it's the right time. People will have different opinions.

"That's a decision I have to make. Is now the right time or do I need another year? I'm not going to walk into any team in England, I understand that."
