Reading, Hull City and Preston North End in race to sign in-form Bristol Rovers star Jonson Clarke-Harris - reports

Jonson Clarke-Harris' form in front of goal continues to attract admirers and the latest club to express an interest in the Bristol Rovers frontman is Championship Hull City.

According to the Daily Mail, Hull have joined Preston North End and Reading in the race for the 24-year-old who only signed for the Gas from Coventry City in January with Bristol Rovers yet to confirm the length of his contract at the Mem.

Bristol Rovers can be confident, AFC Wimbledon concerned - League One relegation battle run-in analysed

Unlike his time at Coventry, Rotherham and MK Dons where he was switched between positions and often played on the wing, Clarke-Harris has become the focal point of Graham Coughlan's attack for Rovers and rewarded the trust of his manager with nine goals in nine league games.

That has helped Rovers keep their 'Jonson Clarke-Harris needs more help if Bristol Rovers are to get out of trouble' in the League One relegation battle but the club will also be mindful of speculation potentially unsettling their start striker.

Reportedly, there were scouts from unnamed Championship-level clubs at Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium last Tuesday, many of which were concentrating on Clarke-Harris.

Coughlan admitted last month it's the striker's ambition to play for a Championship club but hopes that's in a Rovers shirt.

"Jono keeps saying he wants to play in the Championship with me and I keep telling Jono, and I have been promising all his days, I will help him get there. I hope that is with this club," he said in the wake of Clarke-Harris' wondergoal at Gillingham.

Signing at least one striker is high on the priorities of Hull's recruitment team as Nouha Dicko is the only senior forward on the club's books for 2019/20 as Chris Martin loan ends, Will Keane is only on a short-term agreement , while Fraizer Campbell becomes a free agent in June and is yet to agree reduced terms on a new contract.
