Hull City make loan decision on Everton defender Matthew Pennington

Everton defender Matthew Pennington will remain on loan at Championship outfit Hull City until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old has joined Everton team-mate Josh Bowler in extending his terms with the Tigers after making 11 appearances this term.

Pennington had forced his way into the reckoning at the KCOM Stadium before the coronavirus pandemic brought a three-month interruption to the campaign with Hull two points above the relegation zone.

Hull have not tasted victory in the Championship since a 1-0 triumph at Sheffield Wednesday on New Year's Day.

Pennington - who has enjoyed spells with Tranmere Rovers, Coventry City, Walsall and Leeds United - impressed on loan at Ipswich Town last season despite the Tractor Boys suffering relegation to League One.

He has made nine appearances for Everton with his last coming under Ronald Koeman in 2017.
