Hull City linked with Leeds United midfielder, Peterborough forward targeted by West Brom - League One rumours

Bristol Rovers have all-but completed their summer business - Jonson Clarke-Harris contract decision pending - with Ben Garner's Gas making a number of eyecatching additions.

Rovers were one of the clubs quickest out of the traps in League One to give Garner sufficient time work with his squad during pre-season in time for the League One kick-off on September 12.

With a salary cap now also in place, clubs are having to work smarter and be more sensible in the market but plenty of clubs are still completing deals and bringing in new additions.

Here is a round-up of the latest transfer news and gossip across the division ...

Tractor Boys to sign ex-Stoke defender

Ipswich Town have agreed to sign former Stoke City defender Stephen Ward.

Football Insider reports that the 34-year-old is due to join the Portman Road side on a free transfer.

Ward was released by the Potters over the summer, and has been training with Ipswich in pre-season. He played 15 games for Stoke last season.

Posh forward at centre of West Brom v Sheffield United battle

Peterborough United forward Siriki Dembele is set to have his future fought over by West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United.

According to BirminghamLive, it is understood the Baggies are keen on a new forward to bolster their attacking options, with Dembele targeted.

But Dembele is also claimed to have caught the attentions of Chris Wilder’s Blades.

The 23-year-old Ivorian scored six goals and nine assists across all competitions last season.

Tangerines and Tigers among teams linked with Leeds youngster

Blackpool and Hull City are among the clubs linked with Leeds United midfielder Robbie Gotts.

The 20-year-old is poised to head out on loan for the 2020/21 campaign in a bid to garner first team experience.

The Blackpool Gazette reports that Blackpool, Huddersfield Town and Hull City are thought to be interested in Gotts.

He played twice last season for Marcelo Bielsa’s side as the Whites won promotion back to the Premier League.
