Hull City have confirmed they have begun an investigation after missiles were thrown on to the pitch during the club’s FA Cup tie with Everton.
The Tigers took the lead inside the opening minute at the MKM Stadium, which kickstarted a spirited display from the home side.
Andros Townsend eventually scored the decisive goal for Everton during extra-time, setting up a fourth round home tie against Brentford.

“Hull City can confirm we are investigating a number of incidents where objects were thrown onto the field of play during Saturday’s FA Cup third-round tie against Everton,” the club said in a statement .
“The club is working with SMC and Humberside Police to identify the perpetrators and issue those who are found guilty with banning orders.
“The club reiterates its stance that such behaviour is not welcome at the MKM Stadium, and those taking part do not represent the club or its fanbase.”
Demarai Gray and Andre Gomes were also on the scoresheet for the Blues at the weekend, before Ryan Longman’s equaliser forced extra-time.
Everton’s fourth round tie against Brentford is scheduled to be played between Friday 4 and Monday 7 February 2022.
