Hull City have confirmed that two people at the club have tested positive for coronavirus.
The Tigers have not disclosed the roles or identities of either individual in question, with the duo now set to enter a seven-day period of self-isolation as denoted by the latest EFL rules.
Hull's official statement came shortly after the EFL announced that a total of two positive results had been recorded after 1,014 players and staff from across the 24 second-tier clubs underwent testing over the last 72 hours.
"Hull City can confirm that two people have tested positive for COVID-19 following the first round of testing at the training ground," Hull's statement read.
"Medical confidentiality means the names will not be disclosed, and the Club asks for this to be respected.
"The duo, who are both asymptomatic and feeling no ill effects, will now self-isolate for seven days – in line with the protocols set out in EFL guidelines – before being tested again at a later date.
"The Club will continue to liaise closely with the affected personnel and will make no further comment."
Earlier on Sunday, it was also confirmed that one Bournemouth player had returned a positive Covid-19 result during a second round of testing in the Premier League.
Two individuals out of 996 players and staff returned positive tests during the second round of top-flight testing, taking the total number to eight after it was revealed earlier this week that Watford defender Adrian Mariappa, two unnamed members of Watford staff and Burnley assistant manager Ian Woan were among an initial group of six to have tested positive.
Last week, Hull released a statement in which they declared themselves "disappointed" that a letter from vice-chairman Ehab Allam to EFL chairman Rick Parry that reportedly outlined the former's opposition to resuming the 2019-20 season under the present circumstances was leaked to the press.
