Hull City boss Grant McCann opens up on the future of Nottingham Forest 'target' Kamil Grosicki

Hull City wide man Kamil Grosicki has been given extra time off by Hull City this summer as speculation surrounding his future continues.

The 31-year-old was reportedly a wanted man by Nottingham Forest early this summer, with the Reds said to be poised to launch a £2.5 million bid.

But since then the City Ground has seen the departure of Martin O'Neill and under new boss Sabri Lamouchi there has been little talk that any Grosicki interest could be reignited.

However, Hull remain uncertain over the future of their winger, who has one year left on his current deal at the KCOM Stadium.

It is understood that the deal allows Grosicki the option to renew for a further year, but with the Poland international stalling, Hull will want to ensure they do not miss their chance to cash in on their man before he can leave for free next summer.

"If it happens, it happens,” new Hull boss Grant McCann told HullLive. “If it doesn't, then brilliant.

“That's us, we do not want to lose anyone. I have not seen Kamil yet, obviously because we have given him an extra couple of weeks - him and Markus - to recuperate and be back fresh.

“At this level of football and when people have good years, there is always interest. But honestly, it is like any football club. I saw it last year at Doncaster when there was in interest in John Marquis, Ben Whiteman or whoever it may be.

“It is going to be no different here.

"It's making sure if anything did happen, we have got a plan in place that is going to fall in right directly behind that.

“That is not me saying we want to sell anyone, we don't want to get rid of anyone. But it is about always having a plan in place in anything goes not the way we want it to.”
