Hulk Hogan's Widow Plans to Sue Doctors for Malpractice Regarding His Death - Report

Sky Daily Hogan, the widow of wrestling legend Terry Gene "Hulk Hogan" Bollea, is reportedly preparing a medical malpractice lawsuit against at least one of her late husband's doctors. The legal action stems from a neck operation that Sky believes played a significant role in Hogan's unexpected demise at his home in Clearwater, Florida, earlier this year.

Sources close to Sky have indicated to TMZ that the focus of the lawsuit is a May four-level neck fusion, one of several spinal operations he endured over his lifetime as a result of decades of wrestling injuries. During one of the surgeries, the WWE star's phrenic nerve, responsible for the function of the diaphragm and breathing, was allegedly compromised. An occupational therapist present at Hogan's home on the day he died reportedly informed police that the nerve appeared to have been "severed."

According to authorities familiar with the 911 call made in July of this year, Sky told dispatchers, "My husband's not breathing. He just stopped breathing," raising serious questions about whether Hogan suffered a cardiac event or respiratory arrest triggered by nerve damage.

Hogan's body was not cremated immediately, as Sky ordered a private autopsy for additional tissue and nerve analysis, signaling her intention to thoroughly investigate potential medical negligence. While the findings of this postmortem examination remain private, Sky's decision to pursue legal action suggests that they may support her suspicions.

Meanwhile, the Clearwater Police Department continues its probe into Hogan's death. Investigators have conducted interviews with family members and witnesses and are reviewing medical records, body‑camera footage, and the 911 call, though none of these materials have been released publicly. Despite the ongoing investigation, officials have stated that there is no evidence of foul play.

The official cause of death, as determined by the medical examiner, was acute myocardial infarction (heart attack). Yet, the narrative has shifted amid mounting speculation that Hogan's breathing may have been critically impaired by phrenic nerve injury.

Hogan's daughter, Brooke, initially raised questions about her father's death and offered to fund an autopsy, stating, "I do think it's weird that no autopsy was performed, because yes, you can have a heart attack, but what was the reason for the heart attack is the question." After viewing his body and reviewing body cam footage and the 911 call, Brooke indicated she no longer suspects foul play, indicating a possible divide between Hogan's widow and his children.
