Hulk Hogan’s son Nick shares ‘hardest part’ about dad’s shocking death at age 71

Hulk Hogan’s son Nick Bollea has said the former wrestler’s death last July at the age of 71 was “sudden and shocking.”

Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died from an acute myocardial infarction, most commonly known as a heart attack.

In a new interview with People, Bollea reflected on his grief and said Hogan “was just always so positive, and he was so full of life. It's almost like disbelief that it happened, because he was just always talking about how grateful he was for that day and excited for the next day and to see the sunrise.”

He added: “The hardest part is never being able to fully prepare for something like that.”

The 35-year-old explained that as well as being business partners, the pair worked out together and shared a nutritional plan. “There were so many different things that we were aligned on that I most miss just communicating with him,” he said. “And it just still feels wrong to me that I can't talk to him and that I can't call him, and that's the biggest void for me.”

Bollea is featured in the new four-part docuseries, Hulk Hogan: Real American, which arrives April 22 on Netflix.

The series reportedly includes Hogan’s final interview and on-camera appearance, as well as contributions from other wrestling stars, such as Bret Hart, and Hogan's ex-wife, Linda Hogan.

Series director Bryan Storkel told People he had no idea his interview with Hogan would be his last. “I went into this thinking this is going to be the ultimate Hulk Hogan documentary, this is going to be it, there's never going to need to be one done again,” he said. “But there was no idea that it would be his final interview or his final words.”

After Hogan’s death he left Bollea $5 million in assets, while his daughter Brooke Hogan was not included in her dad’s will.

According to court documents, Bollea filed to be co-personal representative of his father’s estate alongside a man named Terry McCoy.

In the documents, Bollea claimed his father’s will was executed in 2016 and was amended a few times up until 2023. The will listed Bollea as the sole beneficiary of his father’s estate, with his widow, Melanie Sky Daily, listed as a surviving spouse.

Brooke Hogan was not listed as a beneficiary. Sources told TMZ that she had asked to be removed from her father’s will in 2023 following their estrangement and did not want to receive any money from his estate.
