Hugo Lloris speaks out on what Tottenham must do following Son Heung-min injury blow

Hugo Lloris was the hero for Tottenham on Wednesday evening in their Champions League clash against RB Leipzig.

The German side dominated proceedings in north London and they really should have left with more than one goal given the chances they created.

The World Cup winner was extremely busy throughout the 90 minutes as he produced a number of key saves to keep the tie in the balance.

Outlining that a second goal for the visitors would probably have killed the tie, Lloris has stated that the team must stay positive if they are to progress to the final eight of the competition.

"Obviously it is quite clear we are not in the perfect position in this double confrontation, but there is still one leg to play. We are still alive," said the Frenchman.

"If we had conceded a second goal probably our chance would be over, so I think the message is clear, it is to stay positive.

"I think the last 20 minutes were very good, we were close to getting a goal. Unfortunately the result is not the best but we have to deal with that and stay positive."

The Lilywhites are extremely short upfront at present after Son Heung-min joined Harry Kane on the sidelines.

The South Korean's absence could prove critical come the end of the season and Lloris has made it clear that his teammates need to keep believing as they compete in three competitions.

"We know the context, we know the situation but we don't have to complain," added the captain. "We can't find excuses, we just have to stay professional and stick together.

"I think in this moment the best way to act is to act as a team and this is what we are going to try and do until the end of the season.

"It is a very difficult season but we have to deal with that, it is not easy for any involved in the club but we are going to give our best until the end.

"Every game is a fight, we are still alive, still involved in three competitions, we need to keep believing and give our best."
