Hugo Lloris says Liverpool were lucky against Spurs and makes revelation ahead of Crystal Palace

Hugo Lloris has broken his silence over the error that led to Liverpool's winning goal on Sunday, and admitted he has questioned himself in the aftermath

Spurs had restored balance to the match in an improved second half display thanks to Lucas Moura's strike but the World Cup winner spilled a soft header from Mohammed Salah, which then bounced in off of Toby Alderweireld.

It is a defeat that allowed Arsenal to overtake Spurs in the Premier League with a win over Newcastle, and now only three points separates the Gunners in third and Chelsea in sixth.

With Tottenham opening their new stadium against Crystal Palace on Wednesday, and a hectic schedule until the end of the season, the glovesman accepts errors are part of the game and must be forgotten.

Lloris told Sky Sports: "When you are a goalkeeper, you know the responsibility. It’s like this.

"Of course, you question yourself. The good thing is that you know there is another game in three days, so you need to switch off about [Liverpool] and prepare the next game. I think it’s the best way to forget.

"I tried to catch the ball twice but unfortunately, there was no bounce, it bounced straight to the shin of Toby [Alderweireld]. And then what happened happened.

"The luck was probably on the opponent’s side. It’s tough because we made so much effort to come back in the game. We had a few chances to score the second goal, but then on a set-piece we conceded this goal. It’s a bit sad for us."
