Hugo Lloris makes Tottenham decision as Jose Mourinho provides Liverpool and Marine claim

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Sunday, January 10.

Lloris turns down Spurs offer

Hugo Lloris has rejected early attempts by Tottenham to get him to sign a new contract with the club, according to a report from Football Insider.

The report claims that Spurs made a 'very lucrative contract offer' to Lloris, but he has turned it down as he has doubts over his long-term future with the north London club.

The club are still set to hold more talks with the France international goalkeeper, who has now entered the final 18 months of his deal.

Tottenham remain keen to get their number one to extend his stay in London, but Daniel Levy is braced for strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain with Mauricio Pochettino now in charge of the French giants. The report states that Lloris is one of Spurs' top-earners, pocketing more than £100,000-a-week.

Spurs squad value increases

Tottenham remain in the top 10 when it comes to the most valuable squads in world football, according to recent figures.

According to a new report from Transfermarkt, Spurs sit in 10th-place but are below the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool. However, the north London club do have a more valuable squad than their arch rivals Arsenal, as well as Italian giants Juventus.

A few months ago, the value of the squad was £660.20 million, and following the arrivals of a host of new players - Spurs' overall price has now gone up to £668.30 million. Harry Kane is deemed as the most valuable player throughout the Tottenham squad, with Son Heung-min unsurprisingly in second.

Mourinho responds to Liverpool - Marine talk

Jose Mourinho believes Liverpool helping Marine to beat Tottenham ahead of today's FA Cup clash is 'absolutely normal'.

Spurs face the eighth-tier Merseyside-based side at Rossett Park later today in the third round of the prestigious competition.

Marine boss Neil Young has revealed that Liverpool have supplied the non-league club with video analysis of Spurs to try and help them pull off one of the competition's biggest-ever shocks.

Speaking about the Reds helping their near neighbours, Mourinho said: "Liverpool helping Marine I think is normal. You know they are neighbours and I'm pretty sure there is an emotional connection between them.

"If they gave them analysis from us and access to footage they wouldn't have, I feel it absolutely normal."

The tie is set to kick-off at 5pm this evening, with the match to be broadcast live on BBC One (coverage beginning at 4:30pm).
