Hugo Lloris has his say on the importance of the Tottenham fans ahead of Bayern Munich clash

Hugo Lloris believes Tottenham's fans can help push the side on to victory against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

Spurs face the Bundesliga giants in their first home game in the Champions League group stage this season, having drawn 2-2 with Greek side Olympiacos in their opening Group B clash.

Mauricio Pochettino's men currently sit two points behind Bayern Munich in the group table, after the draw in Greece in their opening game, but Lloris says he is relishing taking on the German champions in front of a packed Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And the Frenchman, who enjoyed a superb reception from Spurs fans at the end of the 2-1 win against Southampton, despite making a horrendous mistake in the first half, has spoken of the importance of the supporters for the game.

“It’s the type of game we are all looking forward to. It’s the type of game we all want to play and for sure it’s going to be a big night," he told  talkSPORT .

Pochettino refuses to lament Lloris after error

“It’s important to recover well after the big effort [against Southampton].

“We know with the push of the big crowd we are capable of facing that type of opponent. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world and it’s going to be very interesting to play [against them].”

Meanwhile, the World Cup winner is eyeing a run of consistency from Spurs, having endured a difficult spell in recent weeks.

"When you see the other teams, sometimes it doesn’t matter about playing fantastic football, only the result matters," he said.

"When we talk about consistency it’s more about results, the performances will follow for sure. When you’re fully confident, you find the level you’re looking for. It’s now just to find continuity in the weeks ahead."
