Newly unsealed documents in Blake Lively’s ongoing legal drama with Justin Baldoni have alleged that Hugh Jackman and Taylor Swift witnessed Ryan Reynolds “unload” on Baldoni for supposedly “fat-shaming” Lively.
Rumours of Baldoni commenting on Lively’s weight while on the set of their film It Ends With Us first emerged in August, 2024.
While unconfirmed, insiders claimed Lively was “really bothered” when Baldoni gave her training advice for a scene where he lifts her up, since he has a “history of back problems”.
Now, court documents obtained by People allege that Reynolds, Lively’s husband, “unloaded” on Baldoni in the couple’s New York City apartment back in 2023.
Jackman and Swift, both friends of the couple, were apparently in the room during the incident, in which Reynolds allegedly told Baldoni it was “horrible” to comment on someone’s weight.
The interaction left Baldoni feeling “completely embarrassed” and in tears, the docs claim.
That account comes from an email sent in 2024 by Jamey Heath, who co-founded the movie production company Wayfarer Studios with Baldoni.
The email recapped the confrontation and said Swift and Jackman “were also present in the apartment at the time” of the meeting.
It marks the most recent time that Swift and Jackman’s names have been brought up in the ongoing legal battle, which kicked off last year when Lively sued Baldoni, who directed It Ends With Us, on allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation.
Jackman and Swift were both named on a list of potential witnesses shared by Lively’s legal team earlier this month.
Before that, Baldoni’s lawyers attempted to subpoena Swift in May.
Baldoni’s team has claimed throughout the legal battle that Lively used her celebrity friendships to exert creative control over It Ends With Us, but Swift has distanced herself from the drama in the months since it all unfolded.
“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release,” a representative for Swift said in May.
The situation has apparently left Lively and Swift at odds, but Jackman appears to still be on good terms for the stars.
The actor — who starred opposite Reynolds in Deadpool & Wolverine — was seen attending the premiere of It Ends With Us with Lively last year.
A trial for the case is expected to take place in March of next year.
