Hugh Jackman's 1998 London production of 'Oklahoma!' streaming for free this weekend

With Broadway and London's West End shows cancelled or postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic, theater geeks and musical fans don't have to miss out on their fix to premium offerings.

Especially when it's free.

Starting Friday, BroadwayHD is offering fans a few streaming opportunities to see London's National Theatre production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's epic show "Oklahoma!" starring Hugh Jackman.

"Oklahoma!," which wrapped a phenomenal Broadway reimagining helmed by Daniel Fish last year, is considered the quintessential American musical.

Set in the Indiana territory (to be known as Oklahoma) during the early 1900s, the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic tells the story of two love triangles: Curly and Laurey and Jud Fry, and Will and Ado Annie and Ali Hakim.

The musical has endured since its world premiere in 1943.

Directed by Trevor Nunn, choreographed by Susan Stroman and starring Jackman, the 1998 revival was produced by the Royal National Theater and transferred to Broadway in 2002, with Josefina Gabrielle and Shuler Hensley reprising their roles from London, and with Patrick Wilson and Andrea Martin.

The filmed production of "Oklahoma!" will be made available for free on BroadwayHD, beginning at 8 p.m., March 27, via the BroadwayHD website.

And seeing Wolverine bellowing "Oh, What A Beautiful Morning" is definitely worth a gander.

The production will remain available for free throughout the weekend.
