Hugh Jackman makes Scots dad's dream come true as daughter makes Hydro bow

Scots tot performs incredible Greatest Showman routine dressed as Hugh Jackman made a dream come true for a Scots dad last night.

Peter Greenlees’s long-time wish was to see his daughter Jenna-Lee James singing on the stage of the SSE Hydro .

And during the first of his three shows at the Glasgow venue, Jackman made that a reality.

Peter was stunned when the superstar introduced Jenna-Lee on to the stage and then cheered her on as she belted out Queen’s
Somebody to Love.

Jackman even went down into the audience and sat with Peter and wife Janette as their daughter sang.

Retired technician Peter, 71, said: “Ever since the Hydro was built, I’ve always said I’d love to see Jenna-Lee singing there, so I was absolutely gobsmacked when it happened.

“It was amazing. Hugh sat next to me, looked at Jenna-Lee singing on the stage and said, ‘How about that, dad?’”

Jenna-Lee, 41, has a successful career in musical theatre and Peter and Janette knew she was going to be part of Jackman’s The Man. The Music. The Show tour.

But she had kept her cards close to her chest about her role in the show.

Retired Bhs worker Janette, 69, said: “It was very emotional – a very proud moment.

“Before the show, we were taken backstage and introduced to Hugh Jackman and all the cast. He and everyone else were so lovely to us.”

On Tuesday, the Record told how Jackman had visited a Clydebank chippie and tried a deep-friend Mars bar.

Peter said it had been on Jenna-Lee’s recommendation, adding: “They had deep-fried Bountys and Snickers as well.”

Jackman, 50, put on a spectacular show on the first night of his world tour.

He sang hits from his movie The Greatest Showman and introduced co-star Keala Settle, alias Lettie Lutz, to perform her epic tune This Is Me.
