Hugh Jackman has declared himself as “uncool” after he arrived first on the red carpet for the 2019 Brit Awards.
The 50-year-old actor, who is set to open the show with a performance of The Greatest Show from hit film The Greatest Showman, joked that he will be in bed before the ceremony gets into full swing.
Speaking on the red carpet, Jackman said: “You are not meant to be first, you are meant to be last. I perform at 8pm, I'm in bed at 9.30pm!"
Jackman also told of his joy to be attending the prestigious ceremony, admitting he “wouldn’t be surprised” if he isn’t invited again.
He added: “I have never been to the Brits, I wouldn't say this is my normal big day job. I wouldn't be surprised if I never get invited again.
“My basic theory in life is, just say yes and have the time of your life."
Earlier this month, Jackman announced he would kick of the ceremony in a funny social media clip, in which he tells his dancers the news.
“We're opening the Brits," he says in the clip. “Oh no! I didn't tell you that, I didn't tell you anything... we're just going to rehearse, it doesn't matter what we're rehearsing for.
"Why don't we just work on The Greatest Show for no reason? Don't tell anyone, I shouldn't have told you."
Jackman will be one of several stars to take to the stage on Wednesday, with performances from Little Mix, George Ezra and P!nk already among those to have been confirmed.
