Hugh Hefner's widow to reveal toxic truths of Playboy Mansion in her memoir

Six years after Playboy founder Hugh Hefner died at the age of 91, his widow Crystal Hefner is all set to reveal the toxic reality of the Playboy Mansion in her upcoming memoir 'Only Say Good Things'.

Crystal, now 37 years old, was just 321 when she first met Hugh Hefner in the mid-2000s. She soon became his "number one girlfriend" and despite an age gap of 60 years between them, she agreed to marry him in 2012.

Speaking to Daily Mail, Crystal said that she would speak about her "stolen" adulthood and the “toxic objectification and misogyny” she went through while living in the Playboy Mansion.

“Since his passing, I have had to do a lot of self-discovery. I have had to find out who I am without it being dictated to me. I have had to not only find my voice, but I also had to learn how to use that voice. My book is a testament to the power of time, processing all that I have been through and embracing my truth," she told the Daily Mail.

Talking about her complex relationship with Hugh, she further said, "My relationship and marriage to Hugh Hefner was a very complicated one. It was one where, no matter how I was treated, I always felt like I had to protect him, which is why I have not shared my story until now.”

After Hugh's death in 2012, Crystal has undergone a "transformative journey". Unlike her glamourous Playboy model avatar, she now is seen in simple hair and makeup. She also advocates against plastic surgery; she claims her breast implants had caused poisoning in her body and hence she got them removed in 2016.

Crystal Hefner's tell-all memoir 'Only Say Good Things' is expected to be out in January 2024.
