Hugh Grant sparks commotion with Paddington 3 hint to ex-girlfriend Liz Hurley

Hugh Grant has made it clear that he thinks Liz Hurley would make an excellent co-star.

The Notting Hill star, 60, suggested that his ex-girlfriend deserves a role in any Paddington 3 movie after she shared a gorgeous snap of herself holding some jars of homemade marmalade.

Liz looked sensational in the sizzling shot, which saw her showcase her gym-honed figure in a cropped cardigan and some high-waisted jeans.

The 55-year-old actress proudly posed with her homemade marmalade, and joked that during lockdown, she’s become a ‘demented housewife’.

She captioned the shot: “Lockdown has turned me into a demented housewife: 47 jars of marmalade are nestling in my larder and another sack of Seville oranges await me”.

Hugh, who starred as actor Phoenix Buchanan in Padding 2, rushed to Twitter to tell Elizabeth she would be the perfect fit for the sequel.

Retweeting her post, he wrote: “Paddington 3.”

Given that Hugh and Elizabeth were one of the most famous couples of the nineties, dating from 1987 to 2000, fans flocked to beg the former lovebirds to reignite their relationship.

“It’s so lovely that these two are still friends and close, but how lovely would it be if they got back together?” suggested one fan.

“The poshest and most perfect couple,” another echoed.

A third admirer penned: “Love that Hugh stills supports and flirts with her after all this time.”

Meanwhile, another fan quipped: “Yes! She would be so good in Paddington 3, and then they could fall in love again while working together!!”

Although fans are hoping for the pair to rekindle their romance, Liz recently admitted that she simply considers Hugh as one of her closest friends.

The former Austin Powers siren said that the actor is her ‘go-to’ person for advice before revealing that they speak almost every day.

“The last time I spoke to Hugh would be this morning. I speak to him quite a lot. I was asking him his advice on a script I just received,” she told People magazine late last year.

“I still go to him for advice on scripts, even though he’s very happily married with five children and I’m very happy in my own life, there’s still certain bits we crossover with very well.”

Elizabeth added: “And asking advice about work, he’s still my go-to person.”

Hugh tied the knot with TV producer Anna Elisabet Eberstein in 2018.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth is currently enjoying the single life after a string of high-profile relationships, including Arun Nayar and Shane Warne.
