Vegans and veggie lovers rejoice! Discount supermarket chain Aldi has just launched a range of completely vegan ready meals - which are on sale for less than £2 each.
The range launched in branches across the UK this week at £1.99 for a 400g serving.
Having launched in stores across the country last week, there's three new meals in Aldi's own-brand, plant-based meals collection called 'I Am Vegan': a red pepper and mango curry, a Thai yellow curry and lastly, a smoky jackfruit chili.
The red pepper and mango curry includes red pepper, mango, black turtle beans and sugar snap peas in a coconut curry sauce made with ginger, garlic and coriander, as well as brown rice.
The Thai yellow curry has aubergine, red peppers, lentils and spring onions in a Thai coconut curry sauce with brown and black rice.
The smoky jackfruit chilli is red peppers and red onion in a smoky chipotle sauce with brown rice.
Cans of jackfruit for £1.19 (400g) are also in Aldi stores this week, which has gained popularity for its meat-like texture and how it soaks up herbs, spices and flavourings to create meat alternatives.
Also appearing in stores for a limited time are jars of Sweet Freedom chocolate spread (which currently sells for £3 at Tesco), veggie jerky for 99p (£1.49 at Holland and Barrett) and a litre of oat milk for 89p (£1.40 for the branded Alpro version).
