Huge transfer hint dropped as agent of Nottingham Forest target confirms meetings

Nottingham Forest may have moved a step closer to signing Issa Kabore, with the defender's agent understood to be attending meetings with Manchester City staff.

Kabore, 21, is the leading candidate to replace Djed Spence at the City Ground. Spence is reported to be closing in on a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Whilst the Reds would like to sign Spence themselves, they have drawn up contingency plans in case they are unsuccessful and Kabore is seen as a suitable alternative option.

Manchester City are busy preparing ahead of their pre-season trip to the United States and are considering where their talented youngsters should spend the season.

Kabore's agent Revien Kanhai has dropped one huge hint over the defender's future on his social media channels. The defender's agent has posted pictures believed to be of him at the City Football Academy, where he is believed to be holding talks with City staff over his client's plans for next season.

The Burkina Faso international defender is on Forest's transfer shortlist. Premier League rules state that clubs can only sign two players on loan deals each season, and they are looking to use one of those spots on Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Kabore could be a loan option but it is believed Forest are more likely to try to negotiate a permanent long-term deal for the player, who spent last season on loan with Troyes.

Right wing-back is a priority area for Forest to address and should Spence go elsewhere they will bring someone fresh in, with Kabore believed to be high on their list of options. 90min.com say Liverpool and Wales defender Neco Williams is another contender, which would make sense given his success on loan at Fulham last season playing as an attacking right-back in a similar vein to Spence.
