YOKOHAMA -- A 9-meter-long balloon depicting a rugby player grounding the ball for a try was inflated in Yokohama on Thursday, the day before the Rugby World Cup kicks off in Japan.
The balloon, depticting the scoring moment under a 7-1/2-meter-tall goal post, greeted visitors at an open space in front of JR Sakuragicho Station, near one of the RWC Fanzones where there will be events such as live broadcasts of the matches on large screens.
The balloon was set up by the Kanagawa prefectural and Yokohama municipal governments to boost the sports extravaganza.
