Huge queues at Braehead as fans flock to sit on the Game of Thrones Iron Throne

Game of Thrones fans have flocked to intu Braehead shopping centre for a chance to sit on the Iron Throne.

You’ve watched characters lie, bleed and sacrifice for the hotly contested seat of power. Now, as George RR Martin's fantasy epic gets set air it's final season, the Iron Thrones is touring the seven kingdoms and is currently in 'the north'.

Fans flocked to the free event in the central atrium at intu Braehead, to get their picture taken, with queues stretching throughout the shopping centre.

One fan tweeted: "Just arrived at braehead to see the GoT chair & the queue is miles long."

Another fan was 'gutted' not to be able to make it, tweeting: "Gutted the Iron Throne is in Braehead shopping centre n I can't make it to sit on it! Gutted aw well 6 days anyway # WinterIsComing"

As well as getting their picture taken, there were chocolate Dragon Eggs on offer.

The hugely popular show will return to Sky Atlantic for its final season on 15 April.

And if you can't make it along for the two-day event, which closes today, fear not. Later in the month, there's a chance to spend an Evening with the Night’s Watch in Glasgow's only ice bar.

Whether you’re a Wildling or an Unsullied, a Dothraki or even a Lannister, you’re all welcome to join the Night's Watch as they shake off the stresses of defending the Seven Kingdoms with a post patrol swally.
