An elderly woman was hit by a wagon at a Merseyside retail park this afternoon.
A huge police response was seen at Aintree Retail Park on Ormskirk Road, just after midday today (Thursday).
Merseyside Police confirmed a woman in her 70s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries to her legs.

The driver of the HGV wagon stopped at the scene.
A section of the retail park was cordoned off, and the HGV remains inside the cordon, with a number of police officers and vehicles still at the scene.
Traffic into and out of the shopping park is not affected.
