A long stretch of Liverpool Street has been cordoned off between Kemsing Way and Cross Lane.

A black Audi car can be seen parked up behind the cordon.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Councillor John Warmisham said: "I'm extremely concerned that this shooting took place as children who have come out of Lark Hill Primary School were visiting shops nearby.
"In addition there were members of the public and people using Clarendon Recreation Centre.

"It is terrifying to think that they could have been caught in the crossfire."
