Huge police presence in Paisley as cops 'with riot shields' swoop onto residential street

Emergency services are dealing with an incident in Paisley, with some cops seen 'with riot shields' on a residential street.

Police were called to Gallowhill Road earlier this morning (Sunday) and remain on the scene now.

An eyewitness has shared pictures and footage from the scene which shows officers in protective gear.

She told Glasgow Live: "It looks major. There are police cars and a fire engine. Cops with riot shields are going in and out of close.

"I could see one casualty. He was in a wheelchair wrapped in a blanket with a belt around him.

"Two ambulances have now arrived and a incident response unit."

Update: A spokeswoman from Police Scotland said:
"This relates to a concern for person report at Gallowhill Road, Paisley, around 11am.

"Emergency services attended and a man was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment."
