Huge police presence in Edinburgh city centre as emergency services respond to ongoing incident

A huge emergency service presence has been reported in Edinburgh after reports of concern for a person.

Photos from the area show multiple emergency service vehicles, including an ambulance and around eight police cars.

Police Scotland told Edinburgh Live they were called to the area on Monday after reports of concern for a person.

At least 10 emergency service vehicles were spotted by concerned locals who took to social media to report the incident.

A force spokesperson said: "Officers are currently in attendance at an address in Morrison Street Edinburgh, following a report of a concern for a person.

"Emergency services remain at the the scene."

In a later update, police said a man had now been arrested.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a report of a disturbance at a property on Morrison Street, Edinburgh, around 3.15pm on Monday, 29 March.

"A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection. The incident was contained and there was no threat to the wider public."
