Huge police presence close to The Dream after car veers into ditch

A large police presence was called out to a junction close to The Dream Sculpture this morning after a car veered into a ditch.

Emergency services were called to the junction between Union Bank Lane and Jubits Lane at about 7.50am.

A dog walker who was in the area at the time reported seeing "about 10 to 15" emergency service vehicles at the scene, responding to the incident.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said a driver was taken to hospital after his car crashed into a ditch.

No road closures were in place after the crash and the spokesman confirmed the vehicle has since been recovered.

The driver didn't suffer any serious injuries and no one else was involved in the crash, the spokesman added.
