Huge police presence at Marionville Avenue in Edinburgh after motorbike collides with cop car

Emergency services rushed to Marionville Avenue this afternoon, in the Lochend/Restalrig area of the city, after a motorbike collided with a police car.

A photograph shows several uniformed officers at the scene, and three police vehicles.

The motorbike is lying on its side next to the cop car it hit and the road is taped off and closed to traffic.

Police have confirmed a man has been taken to hospital, his current condition is unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said:

"Police and emergency services are in attendance at Marionville Road in Edinburgh following a collision between a police vehicle and a motorbike. A man has been taken to hospital.

"Officers remain at the scene."
