Several police vehicles have been spotted in South Bristol late this evening (Sat, Sept 21).
Although the details of the incident are not yet known, it is believed at least one vehicle was involved.
Pictures show one car on its side in the road, in Chapel Barton, a narrow no-through-lane, with eyewitnesses reporting they saw several people on the scene.
The A38, West Street, in Bedminster was closed by police from the junction with Chessel Street to Hengaston Road.
It is not known when it will reopen.
The following bus routes, Airport A2, M1 75 and 76, have all been diverted.
At least three police cars and a police van have been seen on the scene.
