An outdoor cinema is coming to Bolton for one day only this summer, with screenings of some classic favourites - both new and old.
The ‘Day at the Movies’ is being held on Saturday 13th June, at Bolton Arena .
The day will begin with a showing of the new Aladdin at 10am, followed by the original Mary Poppins in the late afternoon.
The last film might be a more grown-up affair, with the timeless romantic drama, Dirty Dancing, being screened at 7pm.
Throughout the day there will be a number of vendors on-site, serving burgers, popcorn, nachos, pick ‘n’ mix and many more cinema treats. An array of alcoholic, non-alcoholic and hot drinks will also be available.
To keep the kids happy, there is also an expected meet and greet with Mary Poppins herself, as well as other popular Disney Princesses.
There is a maximum capacity of 450 per showing, with tickets available on Eventbrite , and the Bolton Arena Office.
There are full day passes, as well as tickets for individual screenings.
Attendees are expected to bring their own chairs, bean bags or blankets to sit on and relax.
This is the second time Bolton Arena will be putting on the event, with last year’s being held on an unexpectedly rainy day in August.
"It was unfortunate that last year the event happened to have fallen on one of the wettest weekends in summer," said Jenny Green, Events Executive at Bolton Arena.
"But it was still an excellent day with a great atmosphere thanks to the people involved."
