Huge outdoor cinema experience coming to Liverpool's Speke Hall with Dirty Dancing and Bohemian Rhapsody

A huge outdoor cinema experience is heading to one of Liverpool ’s most loved spaces, Speke Hall, this year with four huge films to be screened.

The National Trust’s Speke Hall is hosting the huge event across four days in September, with the choice between Dirty Dancing, Bohemian Rhapsody, Top Gun and Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

As part of QUAD’s Summer Nights Outdoor Film Festival, the nationwide festival will bring a huge inflatable screen to Speke Hall ’s lawn, giving an unrivaled view of the city’s cherished Tudor mansion.

Film goers can take along picnics, blankets and chairs for the event - and are advised to dress for the weather.

Dr Alex Rock, director of the Summer Nights Film Festival said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be working with National Trust Speke Hall – a renowned jewel in Merseyside’s heritage.

Bohemian Rhapsody will be screened this September (handout)

“The Summer Nights Film Festival brings outdoor cinema to the very best heritage properties nationwide, and so where better to enjoy four nights of cinema than the glorious gardens of Speke? I’m planning my picnic already!”
