Huge new water park with UK's biggest wave pool to open for October half term

A huge new water park is coming to the UK, and there's good news for parents as it's set to open in time for October half term .

With six high-octane slides, the UK's biggest wave pool, a lazy river, café and even a gym and spa, it's sure to be a strong contender for the UK's best water parks .

The Wave in Coventry is set to open on Monday 21st October, and the best part is that everything is indoors, so there's no need to plan around the volatile weather.

The attraction has already shared sneak peeks of what thrill-seekers can expect on its Facebook page , and it looks like the colourful slides are sure to get that adrenaline pumping!

As for the slides, there'll be plenty to satisfy those looking for a serious adrenaline rush.

For example, there's the Rapids, a 'water-coaster' where jets hurl riders up and down along the course, while the Cyclone will be one of the park's fastest rides and features huge whirlpools.

The very brave might want to take on the Torrent, where you stand on a panel and the floor beneath disappears, plunging you down the slide towards the pools below.

Those looking for a thrill that's a little less intense, the Crestar features two giant spheres and fun lighting effects, while the Cascade is an enclosed slide with colourful light panels.

It's sure to be a hit with kids (and adults) of all ages (Facebook)

However those with a fear of heights may want to avoid the Riptide, which sees climbers grab a tyre and climb to the highest points of the water park to race back down.

Another attraction sure to be a hit is the UK's biggest wave pool which is expected to churn around 20 million litres of water every day.

Then there's the fitness centre which will include a 25-metre pool, a large gym, a dance studio and squash courts.

Oh, and for those who need a break or want to treat themselves, the site will also feature a luxury spa.

As for ticket prices? Off-peak tickets are £10.50 for adults and £9 for children, while on-peak tickets are £14.50 for adults and £11 for children.  (There are discounts available for Coventry residents with a Go CV card).
